KEEPING PARENTS INFORMED THIS TERM
Due to the three and a half weeks of missed instruction, we will not be holding a traditional Celebration of Learning this term. Instead, teachers will reach out to parents. If a child is experiencing difficulties in any area of their schooling, teachers will request a phone or in person meeting. Our priority is to ensure that every student is well-supported and that families remain informed about their child’s progress. As a reminder, parents are asked to regularly check PowerSchool or Spaces EDU, depending on grade level.
PURDY’S FUNDRAISER
Our school is partnering with Purdy’s Chocolatier for a holiday fundraiser to support upgrades to our library and SMART Boards. Simply join the campaign through the fundraising link, browse the online catalogue, and place your order by November 26th, 2025. Chocolates can be picked up at the school from December 10–12. Our school can earn up to 25% from each purchase, help us reach our $3,000 goal. Thank you for helping make a difference – one chocolate at a time!

BOOK FAIR
Our Scholastic Book Fair will open on Monday November 17 and close on Thursday November 20. The book fair will be open during school hours and for 30 minutes after dismissal each day. This is a great chance for students to build their home library and explore new books. Our school also gets a percentage of sales back in books.
SCHOOL FEES
A reminder that school fees are now due. All Junior High options fees have been posted. We kindly ask for your prompt attention to this important matter, as these fees help us continue to provide excellent learning experiences and fun opportunities for our students.
LET’S STAY HEALTHY TOGETHER
Check your child’s health before sending them to school, especially if they have been unwell overnight.
Recently, we have had instances where children with gastrointestinal symptoms attended school despite falling ill the night before. To foster a healthy environment within our school, we kindly request your cooperation in evaluating whether your child is fit for attendance.
Consider the following recommendations:
- Observation: Take a moment to observe your child’s well-being in the morning if they were unwell overnight.
- Gastrointestinal Symptoms: In light of recent incidents, pay special attention to symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. If your child has experienced any of these symptoms, we recommend keeping them at home until fully recovered.
- Rest and Recovery: Ensure your child has ample time for rest and recovery. Sending a child to school prematurely may impede their own recovery and pose a risk to others.
Let’s work together to maintain a healthy and supportive learning environment for all students. Your collaboration is vital in preventing the spread of illness within our school community.
PRINCIPAL’S CHALLENGE – November
Each month, I will be inviting students, families, and classes to take part in a special challenge designed to support physical health, mental well-being, personal and spiritual growth, and academic success. These challenges will be simple and fun, and we encourage you to support your child in participating as much as possible. We would also love for you to share photos of your child/family taking part—our goal is to create a monthly collage that celebrates the wonderful efforts and achievements of our students.

LUNCH WITH THE PRINCIPAL
We are excited to continue our Lunch with the Principal program this year, as it was such good fun last year. To participate, students simply write their name and class on a slip of paper and place it in the special box in the office. Each month, one student will be randomly selected to enjoy lunch with the principal; a friend or sibling will be invited to join them. As a special treat, the winning student will choose their favourite lunch, which will be ordered for them.
MORNING PRAYER
Each morning, a student leads our school community in prayer, sharing a prayer they have written themselves. These moments are a wonderful reflection of our students’ faith and creativity. From time to time, I will share some of these prayers with you. This was our morning prayer one day in early November.
Heavenly Father, we come to you today in prayer to thank you for returning us back to school after a long teachers strike. Thank you for another day of life. We ask you to be with those who are suffering or need spiritual guidance. We ask you to be with those who are affected by the wars in Gaza, Ukraine, and many other countries. We ask you to be with those in Jamaica that are affected by the hurricane. We pray that Catholic Education will be spread across the world so that all may know of your wondrous love for us. We pray that the Catholic Church will be strengthened in faith as one. We ask that you be with the Veterans that fought for our freedom as Remembrance Day approaches. We ask this all through your son, Jesus Christ.
Amen
