Cabane à Sucre

Cabane à sucre is an annual French-Canadian tradition. This year, families will be able to select a variety of fun French activities that include performances from school choirs, sleigh rides, maple sugar on a stick, drumming, robotics, games and so much more!

The cost is $10.00 per family and is payable through the “school fees” link located in PowerSchool.  This payment in PowerSchool is considered your registration for the event. After the payment is made families will receive a ticket and a schedule for the day’s activities. Registration closes on Monday, February 24.

Junior High Ski Field Trip

Please note that the February 14 ski trip for Grades 7, 8, and 9 is a curricular field trip, and all students are expected to attend. This opportunity allows students to experience a day on the slopes, develop new skills, and enjoy the outdoors in a fun and supportive environment. However, looking forward to Friday’s weather forecast, it may be too cold to attend this field trip. A decision will be made on Thursday, and an email will be sent to all Junior High families.

Family Dance

The Annual Family Dance is just around the corner on Friday, February 21, from 6:30pm – 8:30pm.

The dance is a great way to connect with old friends and make new ones in the school community. The dance is for all ages. Bring your partners, children, cousins, and enjoy the evening while helping to raise funds for the St. John XXIII School Council and St. John XXIII Fundraising Society.

In 2024 we had 400 attendees and raised over $3600.00!

Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite ($5.00 per person, plus fees, or a family of 4 and more for $20.00 plus fees). We will also sell tickets at the door (cash only) for $8.00 each, $30.00 for a family. Buy your tickets ahead of time to save!

Find tickets at the Eventbrite link below:  https://www.eventbrite.com/e/st-john-xxiii-2025-family-dance-tickets-1133765455999

There will also be cash sales of snacks, drinks, and glow products to add to the fun.

To make the dance run smoothly, we ask for volunteers in set up, sales, and clean up. Volunteer with a group of friends and keep the fun rolling! Please sign up for a short volunteer shift at the link below: https://m.signupgenius.com/#!/showSignUp/4090544A4AF28A3FA7-54207506-stjohn

Bottle Drive for 9C continues

Bring your empties to the Green Bottle Depot Windermere and request to donate the funds to École St. John XXIII Catholic School account. Please share this with your friends and family. They can support at any time by donating their empties from now until April. They only need to go to the depot and request to place the funds from their bottles under “St John XXIII School” account.

The depot is open every day from 8:30 to 7:00 pm.

Keeping Our Students Safe: No Nuts at School

A friendly reminder that our school is Nut Aware, and we kindly ask that you do not send any food containing nuts with your child. We have several students with severe and life-threatening allergies, and avoiding nuts helps keep everyone safe. Thank you for your cooperation and support in creating a safe environment for all our students.

If you are interested in purchasing study guides for your child, please use the link below to learn more and order.

All materials are updated to align with the Alberta curriculum in Math, Science, English, and Social Studies.
